Divisional Director of Development
The Salvation Army – Arkansas-Oklahoma Division (SA-AOK) seeks an experienced development professional to assume responsibility for regional fund-raising programs (individual giving, major gifts, capital campaign, special events and donor relations) while supervising a staff of eight (planned giving, resource development and public relations/marketing).
The SA – AOK headquarters is located in Oklahoma City. Within the division there are 30 command units, each requiring some fund-raising guidance, support and assistance. The position is based in Oklahoma City and will require some travel (three to five days per month).
The successful candidate for this position will have:
• A minimum of five years experience in annual giving/major gifts solicitation/corporate-foundation giving and board development;
• An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution;
• Some knowledge and experience with capital campaigns and strategic planning;
• Ability to meet and communicate effectively with people;
• Organizational and planning skills including ability to work in a team environment;
• Ability to travel within the two state area;
• Ability to lead and motivate both volunteers and staff;
• Self-motivation;
• Strong relational and interpersonal skills, poise and ability to work with top level business and community leaders, Board members, major corporate leaders and foundations; and
• CFRE is preferred.
