Reporting to the Executive Director, the selected candidate will oversee a team of professionals focused on direct marketing (mail, telephone and electronic); public relations, marketing and advertising; volunteers; donor services/stewardship and web marketing.

The Salvation Army - Texas Division (SA - TX)is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Cathey, CFRE, CFRM as the Divisional Director of Development effective 14 September 2014.

J​eff Cathey comes to the Army from the Feed the Children organization in Oklahoma City where he served as the Vice resident of Strategic Partnerships.  In this role, he oversaw an annual fundraising campaign of some $60 million designated for international mission support. Previously, he served as the Divisional Director of Development for The Salvation Army’s Arkansas-Oklahoma division for very successful years.  Before that, Cathey led a very successful fundraising team for Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences and the OSU Alumni Association.

Mr. Cathey is a Houston, Texas native.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Consultancy at Oklahoma State University and has completed both the CFRE and CFRM credentials.

The ability to direct and manage high-level fundraising and development programs and work on multiple assignments at the same time is essential. Project management skills are vital.

Appropriate educational qualifications and/or considerable experience in the not-for-profit sector at a senior level is desirable. Salary/Remuneration packages are negotiated based on the relative experience of the applicant.
